Companies must file their ECR for September 2026 and deposit their PF by October 15th. Failure to do so could result in employers incurring interest and penalties. The EPFO has provided this timeframe to companies. The EPFO has announced this information via social media.
EPFO said through X, "Important information for employers. File ECR for the month of September by October 15, 2026, and deposit the due amount. Filing ECR on time ensures compliance and strengthens the social security of employees." To ensure timely deposit of employees' PF funds, companies and employers are required to file an Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) every month, which details employees' salaries and PF contributions.
Failure to deposit PF contributions on time by the employer may result in additional costs, including interest and penalties based on the period of delay.
