In a swift response to cybercrime, the Arani police station in Ajmer Kishangarh recently helped victims recover money lost in two separate online fraud cases. Prompt police action ensured that the funds were returned safely through the banking system.
Victim Loses Over ₹16 Lakh to Fraudulent APK
Mangalram Jangid, a resident of Dholpuria, became a victim after downloading a suspicious APK file on his mobile phone. Scammers withdrew ₹16,09,000 from his bank account. Upon realizing the fraud, he immediately contacted the cybercrime helpline 1930 and filed a complaint at the Arani police station.
Online Shopping Scam
In a separate incident, Sardar Prajapat, a resident of Arani, ordered a toy car online for his children. Fraudsters repeatedly demanded additional payments for the delivery. Trusting them, Sardar transferred more money before realizing he was being scammed. He contacted the cybercrime helpline and filed a formal complaint, which allowed authorities to place the payment on hold.
Immediate Police Action
Station House Officer Roshanlal Samaria took both cases seriously. The police team quickly secured the funds in the respective accounts through a cyber portal. After completing the necessary legal procedures, the amount was refunded to the victims via their bank accounts under court orders.
