This is the first time in IPL history that KKR has failed to win a single match in its opening five matches. KKR has played a total of five matches this season, losing four, with one match ending in a draw. Chasing a target of 193 from Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium, KKR managed only 160 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

Rinku Singh's bat also remained silent, scoring just 6 runs. Cameron Green was dismissed by Noor Ahmed without scoring. Rovman Powell scored 31 runs in 22 balls, while Ramandeep Singh contributed 35 runs. Together, they shared a 63-run partnership for the seventh wicket, but they could not lead the team to victory. Noor Ahmed's bowling was brilliant for CSK, taking 3 wickets for just 21 runs. Anshul Kamboj also took 2 wickets.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings scored 192 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Sanju Samson scored 48 runs in 32 balls for the team. Ayush Mhatre also made 38 runs in 17 balls. However, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad managed only 7 runs. Dewald Brevis scored 41 runs in 29 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. Sarfaraz Khan scored 23 runs in 18 balls.
