Pakistan Ahmadiyya Muslim:  The Ahmadiyya Muslim community is facing religious persecution in Pakistan. Especially on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2025. Police and administration in Punjab and Sindh provinces have threatened the people of the Ahmadiyya community, forcing them to sign affidavits, in which it is sworn that they will not participate in any religious rituals. Failure to do so threatens a fine of 5 lakh Pakistani rupees. This order is being implemented based on a notification of 2023, which is unconstitutional and beyond the jurisdiction of local authorities.

Ahmadiya Muslims banned from celebrating Bakrid

The Ahmadiyya community does not find peace even in graves. In March 2025, the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) vandalised over 100 Ahmadiyya graves in Khushab, Punjab. The TTP and other extremist organisations continue to target Ahmadis. According to Amnesty International, at least 36 arrests were made in June 2024 to prevent them from performing Eid rituals.

Ahmadis do not find peace at their graves

After the 1974 constitutional amendment in Pakistan, the Ahmadiya community was excluded from Muslim recognition. People of the Ahmadiya community are facing a ban on reading the Quran in public, offering namaz, saying salaam, and even building a mosque. If they do so, they are put in jail. The Ahmadiya community in Pakistan is facing violation of religious freedom and persecution, which is considered a violation of international human rights standards.
