Awarapan 2 Final Schedule to Be Shot in Malaysia, Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani Set to Wrap Filming in Three Weeks

The shooting of Awarapan 2 is back on track after a brief halt caused by an injury to lead actor Emraan Hashmi. The makers have now locked the film’s next and final shooting schedule, which will take place in Malaysia. According to reports, the remaining portions of the film will be completed over a three-week schedule, marking the final phase of production.

As per Box Office Worldwide, Emraan Hashmi is expected to begin shooting in Malaysia this week, with Disha Patani also joining him for this schedule. A major portion of the film has already been completed in India, and the upcoming international schedule will focus primarily on scenes requiring a foreign backdrop. The team had paused filming for nearly 20 days following Emraan’s injury, but preparations are now in full swing to complete the project on time.

The sequel is being directed by Nitin Kakkar and is produced under the banner of Vishesh Films. The makers have kept the storyline tightly under wraps, revealing very little about the plot or character arcs. A teaser announcement had earlier confirmed the film’s release date as April 3, though industry insiders suggest the recent shooting delay could impact the final release timeline.

The original Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri, was released in 2007 and failed to perform well at the box office during its initial run. Made on a reported budget of around ₹18 crore, the film earned approximately ₹12 crore worldwide. Despite this, it went on to gain cult status over the years, particularly for its music and emotional depth. The original cast included Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, Purab Kohli, Ashutosh Rana, and Shaad Randhawa. Strong fan demand over the years eventually led to the development of the sequel, making Awarapan 2 one of Emraan Hashmi’s most anticipated upcoming films.
