LPG Cylinders Washed Away: Following heavy rains in Raigad, Maharashtra, 3,000 LPG cylinders from an HPCL plant have been washed away into the Patalganga River. The administration has warned local residents not to touch them and to report them immediately.

Raigad Floods: A shocking and frightening video has emerged from Maharashtra's Raigad district. Due to heavy rains and flooding, not just one or two, but 3,000 LPG cylinders have been swept away in the Patalganga River. These cylinders, carried by the strong current of water, are now moving towards nearby villages and residential areas. In light of this, the local administration has immediately issued a high alert and clearly warned residents not to touch any cylinders seen on the riverbank.

This incident occurred at the HPCL Patalganga LPG bottling plant in the Panvel taluka of Raigad district. The area has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past few days. Rainwater entered the bottling plant, creating a flood-like situation. The flow of water was so strong that approximately 3,000 gas cylinders, both filled and empty, stored within the plant premises were swept away into the Patalganga River.

Strict warning from the administration

Upon receiving news of such a large number of cylinders floating in the river, Raigarh District Collector Kishan Jawale issued an urgent appeal to the public. He categorically stated that people should avoid taking any cylinders found on the riverbank or floating in the river into their homes. The Collector cautioned that there is no guarantee whether the cylinders floating in the water contain gas or are in safe condition. Trying to pick them up or open them out of curiosity or greed could prove fatal.

Alarm

Due to the pressure of floodwaters and the impact of rocks, these cylinders are at high risk of leakage or explosion. If someone takes them home for use, it could cause serious problems for the entire family and the entire village. Therefore, the administration has urged people to be cautious and not take any risks.

Rescue and recovery work continues

Currently, government agencies and rescue teams are assessing the situation. Efforts have been swiftly initiated to locate and safely retrieve cylinders that have drifted into various parts of the river. The river water is also being monitored to detect any gas leaks in a timely manner. Officials have appealed to local residents that if they see any cylinders floating or lying on the shore, they should immediately inform the local police or control room instead of touching them.
