Bali-bound Air India flight returns to Delhi:  After the horrific plane crash in Ahmedabad, it seems as if someone has cast an evil eye on Air India. Air India flights are being cancelled every day. On 12 June 2025, Air India flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London crashed. The death of 241 people in it shook the whole country. After which the airline cancelled 66 flights of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet for safety and technical checks. Despite all these precautions, planes are being cancelled every day. For the first time, plane passengers have had to face problems due to a volcano. Let's know the whole matter.

Flight to Bali cancelled

Another incident added to Air India's troubles this morning. When flight AI2145 from Delhi to Bali had to return to Delhi due to volcanic eruption at Mount Lewotobi Laki in Indonesia. Dozens of flights to and from Indonesia's resort island Bali have been cancelled after the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano on Wednesday.

All passengers are safe

An Air India spokesperson said, "Flight AI2145 has returned safely to Delhi and all passengers have disembarked." The spokesperson said, "We regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers. Every effort has been made to mitigate the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers by providing them hotel accommodation. If the passengers wish, they are also being offered a full refund on cancellation or complimentary rescheduling."

Flights cancelled due to volcano

According to Bali airport operator Angkasa Pura Indonesia, "Several flights have been cancelled at Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport due to the Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano in East Nusa Tenggara."

Several domestic flights operated by AirAsia have also been cancelled. Jetstar said flights to and from Bali have been cancelled, but some afternoon flights have been postponed until the evening as the ash cloud is expected to clear.  (Inputs also from IANS)
