Megha was found unconscious in her rented house in Kolar area and was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Megha had been living in a live-in relationship with a young man for four years. The family claims that she was under mental stress after her live-in partner refused to marry her. This stress and loneliness are believed to be the main reasons for her death.

What was that last moment?

Megha was at her rented house in Kolar. It was her friend Ranu's birthday, and she was on leave from the hospital to attend the party. Around three in the afternoon, her roommate returned home from college and fell asleep in her room. Megha was unconscious and unable to contact anyone. After making several calls, her foster brother, Shivraj Patel, returned home and found her unconscious. He immediately called the hospital, and Megha was taken to JK Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Did the anesthesia kill me?

According to reports, Megha injected 4 ml of anesthetic into her right arm. Drugs used in anesthesia, such as metazolam and varicolam, are considered safe in routine surgeries, but an overdose without expert supervision can be fatal. Metazolam provides unconsciousness and relaxation, while varicolam relaxes muscles and helps with ventilatory support.

Has this happened before?

In January 2023, GMC doctor Akanksha attempted suicide with a similar medication. Recently, AIIMS doctor Rashmi Verma is also in a vegetative state after taking the same dosage. In the JK Hospital case, the forensic team has seized the injection and other medication.
