A gruesome murder case in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, has sent shockwaves across the region. The crime bears disturbing similarities to the recent Meerut murder case, where a man was brutally killed and his body dismembered. In Sambhal, police allege that a woman, along with three young men, murdered her husband, chopped his body into pieces, and disposed of them at different locations.
The most chilling revelation in this case has come from the victim’s 10-year-old daughter, whose statement has emerged as a crucial piece of evidence.
How the crime came to light
On the morning of December 15, locals found a mutilated body in a drain near the Idgah on Patraua Road. Several body parts, including the head, were missing. A tattoo with the name “Rahul” on an arm fragment helped police identify the deceased as a 40-year-old man who had been missing for weeks.
Police investigations revealed that Rahul had been missing since November 18. His wife later filed a missing person’s complaint at the Chandausi police station on November 24. Suspicion soon fell on her, leading to a deeper probe.
Evidence recovered from the house
During a search of the house, police recovered several items believed to be linked to the crime, including a scooter, a bag, an iron rod, a toilet brush, and an electric heater. Investigators suspect these objects were used during the murder and in the dismemberment of the body. Authorities are still searching for the missing hands, legs, and head.
So far, three people—including the wife and two other accused—have been taken into custody and are being questioned.
“They used to come when my father wasn’t home”
The turning point in the case came from the statement of the victim’s young daughter. She told police that her parents often argued and that three men frequently visited their house. According to her, they brought chocolates for the children and usually met her mother when her father was not around.
The girl revealed that whenever these men came, she and her younger sibling were sent out of the room on some pretext. She also recalled hearing one of them say, “It’s just a matter of a few months, then I will have you,” a statement that deeply alarmed investigators.
Murder allegedly planned when children were at school
The child further told police that on the day of the murder, she and her brother were at school. She claimed that when they earlier tried to object to those men visiting the house, their mother threatened them.
In a heart-wrenching statement, the girl reportedly told police, “Hang my mother and those three uncles. They killed my father. They should all be punished.”
A key link in the investigation
Investigators say the child’s testimony has become one of the strongest links in the case so far. The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing efforts to recover the remaining body parts and establish the full sequence of events.
