In today's modern era, WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app, with over 4 billion users worldwide. It offers a variety of features for its users. The platform has introduced a Group Message History feature specifically designed for group chats. This update aims to help new members quickly understand past conversations and stay updated without confusion. Let's learn the full details.
1. Easy onboarding for new members
Often, when someone joins a WhatsApp group, they can't see previous conversations. This makes it difficult to understand what was previously discussed.
2. Admins can share past messages
Group admins now have the option to share a portion of previous conversations with newly joined members. Administrators can share 25 to 100 previous messages.
3. No more screenshots or message forwarding
Previously, group members had to send screenshots or forward old messages to update new participants. This process was time-consuming and sometimes messy. The new feature simplifies this by allowing admins to share chat history directly.
4. Privacy and control remain a priority
Message history sharing isn't automatic. Administrators must manually select which messages to share, and they can also disable this option if they don't want to use it.
5. Transparency for all group members
Whenever message history is shared with a new member, all group participants receive a notification. Shared messages are clearly marked and displayed separately from regular chats.
