Virat Kohli in Vijay Hazare Trophy: How much will he earn per match? Here’s the full calculation

Virat Kohli has agreed to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy starting December 24, and his participation has created huge excitement among fans. After all, Kohli is returning to India’s premier List-A domestic tournament after many years, and the DDCA has officially confirmed his availability.

How much does Kohli earn for an ODI?

Since retiring from Test and T20 cricket, Virat now plays only ODIs for India.
For each ODI, Kohli earns ₹6 lakh as match fee.

But how much will he get for each match in the domestic Vijay Hazare Trophy?

Vijay Hazare match fee: Only ₹60,000

Unlike international cricket, domestic match fees are fixed by the BCCI for Ranji, Vijay Hazare, and Mushtaq Ali tournaments.

For senior players playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the match fee is:

₹60,000 per match (Playing XI)

This means Kohli will earn just 1/10th of what he gets for playing one ODI.

How many matches will Kohli play?

According to sources, Kohli is not expected to play the full season.
He may appear in only three matches, likely:

• December 24 – vs Andhra Pradesh
• December 26 – vs Gujarat
• January 6 – vs Railways

(Subject to DDCA’s final selection)

Total earning: ₹1.8 lakh

If Kohli plays three matches, he will earn:

₹60,000 × 3 = ₹1,80,000
