The recovery of two bodies from different locations within 24 hours in the Noida Expressway police station area has caused panic and raised serious questions about safety along the expressway and its service roads.
In the first incident, the blood-soaked body of a middle-aged man was found lying on the roadside in a waterlogged area of Sector 135. Just a few hours later, the body of a young woman was discovered on the service road in front of a mall within the same police station limits.
Police have taken both bodies into custody, sent them for post-mortem examination, and launched separate investigations into the cases.
Driver’s Body Found in Sector 135
According to police, the body of a 45-year-old man was recovered from the flooded roadside area of Sector 135 under the Noida Expressway police station. Local residents alerted the police after spotting the body.
The deceased was later identified as Rakesh, who worked as a driver at a mixer plant. Forensic teams collected evidence from the spot, and preliminary findings suggest the possibility of murder linked to a personal dispute or rivalry. However, officials stated that conclusions will be drawn only after the post-mortem and technical analysis.
Woman’s Body Recovered Near Mall
Hours after the first incident, passersby noticed the body of a young woman lying along the service road near a mall and informed the police. The woman was identified as Kavita.
Initial investigation indicates that the woman may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped at the location. Police are scanning CCTV footage from the expressway, service roads, and nearby commercial areas to trace movements linked to the crime.
Police Statement
Joint Commissioner of Police, Rajiv Narayan Mishra, said that following the two incidents, police have been placed on high alert.
“Separate teams have been formed to investigate both cases. At present, no direct link has been established between the two incidents. However, all angles are being examined. Suspects are being identified using mobile call records, location data, and CCTV footage. We expect progress in both cases soon,” he said.
Security Concerns Raised
The discovery of two bodies within such a short span in the same police station area has alarmed local residents, especially those living near isolated stretches of the expressway and floodplain areas. Residents have demanded increased night patrolling, better lighting, and enhanced surveillance to prevent criminal activities.
Police officials stated that further action will depend on post-mortem reports and technical evidence. Investigations in both cases are ongoing.
