Nowadays, governments are constantly introducing new schemes to promote the education and empowerment of girls. The Rajasthan government has taken a commendable step in this direction. The Lado Protsahan Yojana is being implemented with the aim of empowering girls to become self-reliant, facilitate their continued education without interruption, and reduce the financial burden on their families.
Under this scheme, the state government provides financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh to daughters from birth until they reach the age of 21. This amount is not transferred all at once, but in phases directly to the daughter's bank account. This scheme was launched in 2024 under Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Originally known as the Chief Minister Rajshree Yojana, it was later further refined and renamed the Lado Protsahan Yojana.
What is Lado Incentive Scheme?
The Lado Protsahan Yojana is a welfare scheme of the Rajasthan government, which aims to encourage the birth of daughters and help them continue their education. This scheme benefits girls born in a government hospital or government-recognized medical institution. Under this scheme, the government provides a total of ₹150,000 in seven installments at different stages of a daughter's life.
How to get Rs 1.5 lakh in installments?
The amount received under the Laado Incentive Scheme is ₹5,000 at birth, ₹5,000 upon completion of one year of age and vaccination, ₹10,000 upon admission to Class 1, ₹15,000 upon admission to Class 6, ₹20,000 upon admission to Class 10, ₹25,000 upon admission to Class 12, and ₹70,000 upon graduation and attaining the age of 21. This means that the daughter receives a total financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh until she completes her studies, which is transferred directly to her bank account.
Journey from Rajshree Yojana to Lado Incentive Scheme
In Rajasthan, this scheme was initially implemented under the name Chief Minister Rajshree Yojana, providing assistance of approximately ₹50,000 to daughters. In 2024, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma renamed the scheme the Lado Protsahan Yojana. The assistance amount was first doubled and then further increased to ₹1.5 lakh on the occasion of Women's Day. This change made the scheme even more effective and beneficial.
How to apply for Lado Incentive Scheme?
1. The details of a girl child born in a government hospital are automatically recorded on the PCTS portal.
2. After this, the parents have to log in to the SSO portalsso.rajasthan.gov.inYou have to go there and register.
3. After logging in, the application form for Lado Protsahan Yojana has to be filled.
4. The documents required for the application are the girl child's birth certificate, parents' Aadhar card, Rajasthan residence certificate, bank account details.
5. After the form is submitted, the documents are verified.
6. Once the verification is complete, the first installment is sent directly to the bank account.
