A Computer Science Engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has received a handsome package of ₹2.5 crore (approximately $25 million) during this year's placements. The offer was made by Optiver, a renowned global trading company in the Netherlands. According to IIT Hyderabad, this is the highest salary package received by any student since the institute's inception in 2008. The previous highest package was ₹1.1 crore (approximately $10 million) in 2017. This new offer has shattered all previous records. This achievement is being widely discussed on social media, with people praising the student's hard work.

Great recognition for talent

The student who received this ₹2.5 crore package is named Edward Nathan Varghese. Edward's success wasn't a fluke; it was the result of his hard work and passion for coding. He completed a two-month summer internship at Optiver. Impressed by his work and skills, the company gave him a pre-placement offer (PPO).

Edward will begin his career as a software engineer in the Netherlands in July. Originally from Hyderabad, he attended school in Bengaluru. He has achieved this position at just 21 years old.

Ranked 1100th in JEE Main and 558th in JEE Advanced

Edward secured the 1100th rank in the JEE Main and 558th rank in the JEE Advanced. He also scored a 99.96 percentile in the CAT exam. He attributes his success to the robust IIT curriculum and his passion for coding. His parents, also engineers, provided him with a conducive learning environment.
