Dheeraj Singh was the gang leader among the six criminals arrested and sent to jail in connection with the theft of diamond jewellery, iPad and mobile worth more than Rs 15 lakh from Preeti Khemka, who was travelling from Muzaffarpur to Varanasi on December 10 in AC-2 of Sadbhavana Express.

During interrogation, Dheeraj and his son, Ankit, revealed that they possessed a special X-ray lens, which allowed them to determine within seconds what was in a passenger's bag. When they committed thefts on trains, they carried instruments to test items, including gold, silver, and diamonds.

He first searches the bag with the lens. He then investigates the contents of the stolen jewelry, whether they are real or artificial, and then speaks with the goldsmith. The involvement of both father and son has been revealed in the Preeti Khemka purse theft case.

He even ordered the money from the gold he sold to be transferred to his daughter and wife's accounts. He had two lakh rupees transferred to his daughter's account. Railway Superintendent of Police Veena Kumari stated that Dheeraj has been remanded for a week and ordered to be interrogated.

As soon as court permission is granted, he will be brought from jail so that other theft cases can be solved. It was also stated that his property will be confiscated. A letter will be written to the district administration regarding this.

Hajipur police station chief Dharmendra Kumar said that Jawahar Baitha, a longtime train thief, had joined some political parties. He then appointed Dheeraj Singh as his successor. He also revealed that his son lived in a hotel in Hajipur, and Dheeraj Singh would steal and give the stolen goods to his son. The son would then work out where to sell the gold and diamonds.

Dheeraj Singh, his son Ankit Kumar, and his wife Manju Devi currently resided on Road No. 21 in the Rajiv Nagar police station area of ​​Patna. Shankar Sah and Ramesh Kumar, both of Bishar Sthan Chowk Ward No. 3, Police Station-Nagar Shivhar, District-Shivhar, and Badrinath Prasad, Sonarpatti Ward No. 10, Police Station-Nagar, District-Sitamarhi, were arrested and sent to jail.

Rajesh sent it to Shashi Bhushan Chaudhary, a gold and silver dealer at James Village near Exhibition Road's Ashiana Tower. It didn't turn up there either. Meanwhile, the GRP team confiscated it. The bracelet had been melted beforehand. Five lakh rupees had been transferred to an account. The GRP has seized it. The Railway Superintendent of Police said that both Patna goldsmiths would be summoned by notice and questioned.
