RSS Mohan Bhagwat Chief Statement: Mohan Bhagwat has roared from the soil of Kolkata in a way that has created a stir in the political circles. He clearly stated that if the Hindu community unites, it will not take long for the situation in Bengal to change. Not only this, for the first time he has spoken so frankly about the atrocities being committed against Hindus in neighboring Bangladesh. He clarified that India is the only country in the world for Hindus and the government must care for them.

Bhagwat spoke on the Bangladesh issue in very serious and measured terms. He acknowledged that Hindus face a difficult situation there and are a minority, but that they must remain united for their safety. The RSS chief stated that they are providing as much assistance as they can within their borders. He also dropped a significant hint about the role of the Indian government, saying that the government must take cognizance of this and do something. Perhaps they are already doing something, as not every strategy is disclosed.

Some things are not told
Mohan Bhagwat, pointing out the nuances of diplomacy, said that some things are made public and some remain hidden. Sometimes the results are visible immediately, sometimes they take time, but one cannot sit idle. This statement comes at a time when news recently emerged of suspended TMC MLA Humayun Kabir symbolically laying the foundation stone of the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. In such an environment, Bhagwat’s statement that “if Hindus unite, everything will change” is being considered a big message. He also appealed to Hindus around the world to come forward to help Bangladeshi Hindus.

Speaking at the RSS’s centenary celebrations at the Science City auditorium in Kolkata, Mohan Bhagwat also gave a befitting reply to his opponents. He said that the RSS has no enemies, but some people spread misinformation against it out of fear of their “narrow selfish shops” being closed. He clarified that his job is not to change political power, but to change society. We are working for social change. If society’s character changes and it becomes organized, politics will automatically change. He advised the youth to trust reality and their own experience, not hearsay.
