A new list ranking the world's most powerful navies has been released. The navies of India and Pakistan are also included in this list. However, India's name is not included in the list of the world's top 5 navies. India's ranking is surprising because India faces increasing threats from its neighboring countries, China and Pakistan
The World Directory of Modern Warships and Submarines (WDMMW) has released its latest ranking report, listing the navies of 40 countries worldwide. WDMMW's rankings are based on the True Value rating of each country's navy, based on the number of navies, modernization projects, logistical support, offensive capabilities, and defensive capabilities in the event of an attack.
Who are included in the top-5 countries?
According to the report, the US Navy remains the world's number one navy, with its unmatched capabilities and the strength of 11 aircraft carriers. The US Navy possesses large ships and a significant warfighting capability. Of the 11 aircraft carriers, most are nuclear-powered. India's neighboring country, China, ranks second on this list, surpassing the US Navy in many respects. However, the WDMMW has stated in this ranking that the Chinese Navy will soon become the world's most powerful navy.
While the Russian Navy, the world's second-most powerful nation, ranks third on this list, the Russian Navy is considered a complex force. Russia possesses a submarine fleet capable of carrying nuclear weapons. Furthermore, Russia possesses advanced anti-ship missiles. Indonesia's Navy ranks fourth on this list, with approximately 245 different types of warships. Indonesia is continuously developing its naval capabilities and blue-water operations. South Korea ranks fifth on this list, boasting one of the most modern navies in Asia.
India at number seven in the list
Meanwhile, according to the WDMMW rankings, India ranks seventh. The Indian Navy has been given a True Value rating of 100.5 in the list. The Indian Navy currently has two aircraft carriers, INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya, 19 submarines, 74 Fleet Corps, and 5 amphibious assault units.
