8th Pay Commission Update: A major update has emerged regarding the Eighth Pay Commission, sparking excitement among central government employees. Nearly 86 days after the commission's formation, the Eighth Pay Commission has finally secured an office (8th CPC office allocation) in Delhi, and with this, work is beginning to pick up pace.
The commission's team will sit at this address
The government has allocated office space for the 8th Central Pay Commission in Chandralok Building, Janpath, New Delhi. As soon as the Commission's office becomes fully functional, work will begin on key issues related to central government employees. In this regard, the National Council (JCM) Staff Side (NC-JCM drafting committee meeting) has taken the next major step.
A major meeting will be held on February 25
The NC-JCM (Staff Side) has decided to initiate the process of drafting the Common Memorandum for the 8th Pay Commission. A crucial meeting of the Drafting Committee has been convened on February 25, 2026, at 10:30 am. This meeting will be held at 13-C, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi.
Salary-pension, promotion will be discussed
Significantly, the drafting committee members will be required to stay in Delhi for a week, starting February 25th, to discuss issues such as salaries, allowances, promotions, pensions, and service conditions (8th CPC salary pension revision) in detail and finalize the proposals. This means that the meeting will not be just a meeting, but a full week of brainstorming.
What did NC-JCM say in the letter?
The letter clearly states that as soon as the 8th CPC office fully resumes operations, the memorandum can be submitted by the employees. This is why preparations have been intensified. This entire development is being considered a concrete and decisive beginning towards the 8th Pay Commission.
Overall, the meeting of the Office Allocation and Drafting Committee clearly indicates that the process of the 8th Pay Commission has now moved from paper to the ground and in the coming days, the script of major decisions related to central employees will be written from here.
