Tata Motors has introduced a new Dark Edition of its premium mid-size SUV, the Sierra, giving the model a striking all-black appearance and a more premium-looking cabin. The Sierra Dark Edition is priced from ₹13.99 lakh and goes up to ₹20.59 lakh, ex-showroom.

The special edition focuses primarily on styling, with Tata giving the SUV darker exterior elements, black alloy wheels and a distinctive black-and-purple interior theme.

All-Black Exterior Design

The Sierra Dark Edition is finished in Friesian Black, giving the SUV an unmistakable dark appearance.

The front and rear bumper skid plates feature a Satin Midnight Black finish, while the SUV gets 19-inch Jet Piano Black alloy wheels with a diamond-cut design.

Tata has also given the exterior badges a darker treatment. The front and rear Tata logos feature Piano Black and Dark Chrome finishes, while the Sierra badge on the grille gets a Dark Chrome finish.

The Sierra mascot on the front doors and tailgate also receives a dark finish. A special Dark Edition badge on the front fenders further distinguishes this version from the standard SUV.

Black-and-Purple Interior Theme

The darker theme continues inside the cabin with what Tata calls the Violet Eclipse theme.

The cabin primarily uses black finishes, with Granite Black art-leather upholstery, dashboard elements, armrests and door inserts. Purple stitching and accents add contrast, while purple inserts are also used around the air vents and front doors.

The front console gets a Purple Satin Chrome finish, while the lower section of the steering wheel features Piano Black detailing. The inner door handles receive Dark Chrome treatment, and the front seat headrests feature dedicated dark graphics.

Available Across Multiple Variants

The Sierra Dark Edition isn't restricted to a single top-spec variant. It is offered across several variants, including:

• Pure L(O)

• Pure+ L

• Adventure+ L

• Accomplished

• Accomplished+

The Dark Edition is not available with the Smart+ L variant.

Equipment varies depending on the variant. The Pure L Dark includes features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, 8-speaker audio, wireless smartphone connectivity, voice commands, rear camera, cruise control, drive modes, hill descent control, TPMS, leatherette seats and alloy wheels.

The Pure L(O) adds features such as a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

The Pure+ L gets ventilated front seats, a powered driver's seat, thigh-support extensions, Boss Mode and dual-zone climate control.

The Adventure+ L adds equipment including a 360-degree SVS HD camera, 4Sight visibility, Superglide Suspension and terrain modes.

Higher variants bring more advanced technology. The Accomplished variant gets Level 2 ADAS, a HypAR HUD and a 12-speaker JBL Black Dolby Atmos audio system, while the Accomplished+ adds a Horizon View triple-screen setup, Level 2+ ADAS and advanced lighting features.

Three Engine Options

The Sierra Dark Edition retains the same powertrain options as the standard Sierra.

It is offered with three engine choices:

• 1.5-litre Revotron petrol

• 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel

• 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo-petrol

Depending on the variant and engine, transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with the petrol engine, 6-speed automatic with the diesel and 6-speed automatic with the turbo-petrol.
