If you are planning to bring home a new SUV during the festive season, the Volkswagen Taigun could be worth considering. Volkswagen is currently offering benefits of up to ₹3.50 lakh on the Taigun, although the actual savings depend on the model year, variant and eligibility.
The offer comes at a time when Volkswagen has also introduced an updated version of the SUV. The latest Taigun starts at around ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in 11 variants. One of the key mechanical updates is the introduction of an 8-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI engine.
The Taigun competes in a highly competitive segment against models such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos and other mid-size SUVs.
Bigger Benefits on the Previous Model
The biggest discounts are available on the older model-year Taigun.
Customers purchasing the MY2025 Taigun can reportedly receive a cash discount of up to ₹2 lakh, which includes liquidation support of up to ₹1 lakh. Meanwhile, the MY2026 model is available with a cash discount of up to ₹1 lakh.
Eligible customers can also benefit from an exchange bonus of ₹30,000 or a scrappage benefit of ₹20,000. A loyalty bonus of ₹20,000 is also available for eligible buyers.
Depending on the variant, model year and eligibility, these benefits can significantly reduce the effective purchase cost.
Offers Are Also Available on the Updated Taigun
The recently updated Taigun is also being offered with discounts, although the benefits are smaller compared with the outgoing model.
Depending on the variant, customers can receive a cash discount of around ₹20,000 to ₹25,000. The GT Line gets a discount of ₹20,000, while the Topline AT and GT Plus DSG Sport variants can receive benefits of up to ₹25,000.
The updated model can also be availed with an exchange bonus of ₹30,000 or a scrappage benefit of ₹20,000, along with a loyalty bonus of ₹20,000 for eligible customers.
What’s New in the Updated Taigun?
Volkswagen has not made a major overhaul to the Taigun. Instead, the company has introduced several design and feature updates.
The exterior gets new styling elements, including an illuminated logo and a light bar at the front. These changes give the SUV a more modern appearance.
Inside the cabin, the Taigun now gets an improved digital cockpit. Higher variants also offer features such as ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof, adding more comfort and convenience.
1.0 TSI Engine Gets an 8-Speed Automatic
One of the most important changes is under the hood.
The 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine is now available with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. This could make the Taigun more convenient for everyday city driving, particularly in heavy traffic and frequent stop-and-go conditions.
The SUV's turbo-petrol performance and driving dynamics remain among its key highlights.
75% Assured Buyback After Three Years
Volkswagen is also offering an interesting ownership proposition with the Taigun. Customers can get a 75% assured buyback after three years or 30,000 km, subject to the company's terms and conditions.
Such a scheme could appeal to buyers who are concerned about long-term ownership costs and the resale value of a premium European SUV.
Maintenance expenses have traditionally been an important consideration for buyers looking at German cars in India. An assured buyback programme could therefore make the overall ownership proposition more attractive.
Taigun Faces Tough Competition
The Volkswagen Taigun operates in one of India's most competitive SUV segments. The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos continue to attract buyers with their features, technology and wide variant choices, while the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara appeals to customers looking for efficiency and practicality.
The Tata Sierra is also generating interest with its distinctive styling and strong road presence, adding further competition to the segment.
Against these rivals, the Taigun's updated features, turbo-petrol engine, new automatic transmission and buyback programme could make it an interesting option for SUV buyers.
Check the Final Offer Before Booking
The maximum advertised benefit may not be available to every customer. Discounts and other benefits can vary based on city, dealership, variant, model year, stock availability and customer eligibility.
Therefore, buyers should confirm the exact discount structure, exchange or scrappage benefits, loyalty bonus and buyback terms with an authorized Volkswagen dealer before making a purchase.
Disclaimer: Discount figures and promotional benefits can change and may differ between dealerships and locations. Buyers should verify the latest offers, eligibility criteria and terms directly with the dealer before purchasing the vehicle.
