With this latest transfer, the total number of women beneficiaries under the scheme has crossed one crore, while the cumulative amount disbursed so far has exceeded ₹15,000 crore. The government stated that the goal is to ensure inclusive coverage, leaving no eligible woman behind.

Notably, the payment was originally scheduled for January 18, 2026, but was postponed and later released on January 22.

What Is the Subhadra Scheme?

  • Eligible women receive ₹10,000 per year

  • The amount is paid in two equal installments of ₹5,000 each

  • The total assistance can go up to ₹50,000 over five years

The scheme targets women aged 21 years and above but below 60 years, ensuring direct income support during their productive years.
