Police in Sri Ganganagar have cracked a sensational blind murder case from the Ghadsana area, revealing a chilling story of betrayal and conspiracy. The murder of 32-year-old Bhajanlal was allegedly planned and executed by his wife Indra Devi with the help of her lover Prabhudayal. A 15-year-old minor was also involved in the crime.
Love Affair Turned Deadly
According to police, Prabhudayal, a woodcutter by profession, had been in a relationship with Indra Devi for nearly two years. During this period, he provided Indra with a SIM card to stay in constant touch, and the two frequently met in nearby fields.
Bhajanlal had grown suspicious of his wife’s conduct, leading to repeated domestic disputes. He reportedly informed family members about her behavior, and attempts were made to counsel Indra Devi. However, the relationship with Prabhudayal continued, eventually leading to a conspiracy to eliminate Bhajanlal.
Brutal Murder and Disposal of Body
Investigators revealed that the accused first assaulted Bhajanlal, believing him to be dead. They placed his body on a motorcycle and rode nearly 20 kilometers towards the Indira Gandhi Canal. When Bhajanlal unexpectedly regained consciousness near the canal, the accused panicked and struck him on the head with a brick, killing him on the spot. His body and motorcycle were then thrown into the canal.
Body Recovered 270 Kilometers Away
Around 15 days later, on February 2, an unidentified body was recovered from a canal in the Phalodi area—nearly 270 kilometers downstream. The body was later identified as Bhajanlal’s.
Prior to this, Bhajanlal’s father Krishnalal had filed a missing person report at Ghadsana Police Station, suspecting foul play.
Wife’s Behavior Raised Red Flags
When the body was brought back to the village, Indra Devi reportedly claimed it was not her husband’s body and avoided giving clear answers—raising suspicion among family members. Meanwhile, police continued their technical investigation.
Call detail records and mobile location data confirmed frequent communication between Indra Devi and Prabhudayal around the time of the murder.
Conspiracy Exposed, Accused Arrested
As police closed in, Indra Devi fled to her parents’ home with her two children. She was detained there, and sustained interrogation led to a full confession of the crime.
Police have arrested Indra Devi and Prabhudayal, while the minor has been taken into custody under juvenile law. A case has been registered under serious sections including murder, criminal conspiracy, and destruction of evidence. Further investigation is ongoing.
