A woman in Phillaur showed bravery and helped two robbers get caught. While she was coming from Ludhiana to Phillaur, robbers travelling in an auto tried to rob her. The woman showed courage and fought them off and hung from the moving auto and asked for help. When people tried to stop the auto, it overturned due to which two robbers got injured and were caught. One of their accomplices escaped.

The woman showed courage and helped the police catch two robbers. The incident took place on the Phillaur highway at 4 pm on Monday. Here the woman was coming to her home in Phillaur from Ludhiana by auto with her two children.

A woman fought with the robbers on the highway in Phillaur, she hung on to the auto for half a kilometer. When she reached near Ladowal toll plaza, the robbers travelling in the auto started robbing her. The woman showed courage and fought with the three robbers and risked her life by hanging outside the moving auto for half a kilometer to ask for help.

Seeing the woman in this condition, when people tried to stop the auto, it overturned and two robbers got injured.

One of their companions escaped from the spot. People handed over both the robbers to the police of Ladowal police station. According to the victim Meena Kumari, the robbers were travelling in an auto. When she sat in the auto, there were two robbers in it besides the driver.

'The robbers did not stop the auto'

On the way, a boy stopped the auto saying he wanted to go to the bathroom. As soon as he came back, the robbers pushed him aside and made him sit in the middle. When Meena went a little further and told the driver that she wanted to get off, the robbers did not stop the auto.

The three robbers took out sharp weapons and tried to tie her with her own scarf. Then she mustered courage and fought with them and hung outside the moving auto to ask for help.

Seeing the woman, passersby tried to stop the auto but the robbers kept moving ahead, hitting the cars.

Two cars were also damaged due to this. After going some distance, the speeding auto overturned, due to which two robbers got injured, while their third accomplice escaped.

Attempted to snatch mobile phone

Due to this she got injured. Girls have shown bravery earlier also. On 7th September 2024, three bike-borne robbers tried to snatch the mobile phone from a girl named Laxmi in Green Model Town, but Laxmi did not let go of the mobile phone.

The accused dragged the girl along with the mobile for 400 meters. During this time the girl kept screaming for help. Hearing the girl's screams, the people of the locality came out and started running behind the accused's bike.

Eventually the robbers snatched the mobile from the girl's hand and fled. The incident was captured on CCTV camera. Later the police arrested the accused. In the year 2024 itself, another girl in Basti Sheikh had fought with the robbers and saved her mobile.
