While many filmmakers are cautious about releasing their movies around the time of Dhurandhar 2, a major South Indian star has stepped forward to compete at the box office. Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan is preparing to release his upcoming action entertainer Ustad Bhagat Singh, which has already started generating impressive revenue even before hitting theatres.

Release and Paid Preview Plans

The film is scheduled to release on March 19, with special paid preview shows planned for March 18. Initially, the movie had a different release plan, but after Yash reportedly stepped away from the release schedule of his film Toxic, the makers decided to lock the March 19 date.

A Star with a Massive Fan Following

Pawan Kalyan began his acting career in 1996 with the film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. Over the years, he delivered several hit films and built a massive fan base across South India.

He is also the younger brother of megastar Chiranjeevi, but his popularity among fans has allowed him to establish a distinct identity in the film industry.

Crores Earned Before Release

According to trade reports, the overseas theatrical rights of Ustad Bhagat Singh have already been sold for around ₹12 crore, highlighting the strong demand for the film in international markets.

Advance bookings for the North American premiere have also started on a promising note. As of March 10:

• 3,372 tickets had already been sold

• Bookings were open across 592 shows in 196 locations

• The film had earned about $82,176 (around ₹75.52 lakh) in advance sales

• Total collections from the USA and Canada were reported at approximately ₹81.79 lakh

The film is directed by Harish Shankar, known for delivering high-energy commercial entertainers. The background score and music have been composed by S. Thaman, whose involvement has further raised expectations among fans.
