Bhojpuri cinema’s superstar Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, is admired not only for his powerful performances on screen but also for his simple, grounded personality in real life. His humility has won him fans across industries—and even Bollywood superstar Salman Khan once openly praised him on national television.

Nirahua, who has ruled the Bhojpuri film industry for years, also enjoys popularity among Hindi cinema audiences. In 2012, he appeared as a contestant on Bigg Boss Season 6, the controversial reality show hosted by Salman Khan. Although his stay in the house was brief, he left a lasting impression.

What impressed Salman Khan

At the time, Nirahua was already an established star in Bhojpuri cinema. Yet, unlike many contestants known for fights and heated arguments inside the Bigg Boss house, Nirahua stood out for his calm, composed, and respectful behaviour.

Salman Khan, known for his sharp observations, praised Nirahua on the show, expressing surprise at how someone with such immense popularity could remain so down-to-earth and humble. Salman reportedly remarked on Nirahua’s simplicity, highlighting that fame had not changed him.

While Bigg Boss houses are usually filled with drama, arguments, and verbal spats, Nirahua maintained a dignified presence throughout his time on the show. His modest nature and disciplined conduct earned him respect from viewers and the host alike.

From cinema to politics

Apart from acting, Nirahua has also made his mark in politics. Active in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Azamgarh but lost to Akhilesh Yadav. However, he made a strong comeback by winning the 2022 Azamgarh by-election, becoming a Member of Parliament.
