The year 2026 hasn’t started on a strong note for Prabhas. His film The Raja Saab, released on January 9, 2026, failed to meet expectations at the box office. Although it reportedly crossed ₹200 crore worldwide, the film fell well short of its high budget and audience expectations. Following this, Prabhas has taken a short break and is expected to resume work soon.

Amid this, rumours have been doing the rounds that a Salaar 2 teaser would be released just days after Sunny Deol’s Border 2, creating a major box-office clash. However, fresh reports have now clarified the full truth behind these claims.

Salaar’s massive success raised expectations

Prabhas’s Salaar, released in 2023 and co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, turned out to be a blockbuster. Despite releasing alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, the film performed exceptionally well. Made on a budget of around ₹200 crore, Salaar grossed approximately ₹617.75 crore worldwide, including ₹406.45 crore from India alone.

Given this success, fans have been eagerly waiting for updates on Salaar Part 2.

No teaser, no announcement—for now

Contrary to viral reports, there is no Salaar 2 teaser scheduled for January 25, or any other near date. According to recent updates, discussions regarding Salaar Part 2 have not even begun yet. As a result, any talk of shooting schedules or teaser releases is completely premature.

Why Salaar 2 is delayed

Prabhas currently has several projects lined up. His next film to go on floors is Hanu Raghavapudi’s period war drama Fauji. Alongside this, he will also be working on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. In addition, Prabhas is committed to Kalki Part 2 and other future projects.

Meanwhile, Salaar director Prashanth Neel is busy with his next film starring Jr NTR, along with Anil Kapoor. Only after Neel completes that project and Prabhas has free dates will talks about Salaar Part 2 begin.

When can fans expect Salaar 2?

As things stand, Salaar Part 2 is unlikely to release before 2027. Until then, fans will have to be patient and focus on Prabhas’s upcoming films rather than unverified teaser rumours.
