What did Bhagwat say while referring to the Pahalgam attack?
In his address, the RSS chief also appeared to mention the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He said that the attack in Pahalgam was carried out by terrorists from across the border. Twenty-six civilians were killed after being asked about their religion, which created a wave of anger in the country. The government and the army responded strongly. The bravery of our army and the unity of society were presented as a perfect example. This incident (the Pahalgam terrorist attack) taught us that we will maintain friendly feelings towards everyone, yet for our own security, we must remain more vigilant and empowered. Even within the country, there are unconstitutional elements who want to destabilize the country.
He said that the role taken by the countries of the world after this incident made us realise who our friends are and to what extent they extend.
'We have to become self-reliant, we have to adopt Swadeshi'
Bhagwat said that America adopted a new tariff policy for its own benefit. Everyone is suffering its consequences. This entire scenario does not mean that we should become dependent on it. A single nation cannot live in isolation, but dependence should not turn into compulsion. There is no knowing when or how that will change. If we want to live while respecting the unity of world life, without making it a compulsion, we will have to become self-reliant and adopt indigenous products.
The RSS chief further stated that the world looks to India with expectation. A ray of hope is visible in India. The spirit of patriotism has steadily grown in India's new generation. The modern world has an incomplete vision; economic development occurs, but not moral development. Life in America is considered developed, but this is due to incomplete vision. The world has expectations from India; destiny demands this from Indians: we should give the world a new path.
In his address, he also said that the Sangh's shakha is a way to change habits. The Sangh was lured and invited to enter politics, but it refused. Volunteers continued to conduct shakhas daily under all circumstances.
