Royal Enfield to Launch Updated Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 by End of 2026

Royal Enfield is reportedly working on a mid-life update for its popular Continental GT 650. According to media reports, the refreshed model is expected to launch in India by the end of 2026.

The company recently showcased the race-spec Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750 at EICMA 2025 and Motoverse 2025. Despite the introduction of the larger 750cc motorcycle, Royal Enfield has confirmed that the 650cc version will continue to be sold alongside it.

What Changes to Expect?

The updated Continental GT 650 is likely to receive both cosmetic and mechanical upgrades:

  • New color options to refresh its visual appeal

  • Upgraded suspension setup, possibly replacing the current telescopic forks and dual rear shock absorbers with more premium components

  • Twin front disc brakes, similar to the setup seen on the GT-R 750 test model

These improvements are expected to enhance ride quality, handling, and braking performance, while giving the motorcycle a more premium character.

Expected Price

Currently, the Continental GT 650 is priced between ₹3.50 lakh and ₹3.78 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in five color options.

With the addition of premium hardware and updated styling, the facelifted model is expected to carry a slightly higher price tag.

In Royal Enfield’s lineup, the GT 650 sits between the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Classic 650. It remains the brand’s most popular twin-cylinder motorcycle in India as well as several international markets.

What Makes the GT 650 Special?

The decision to continue the 650 alongside the upcoming 750cc model highlights its importance in Royal Enfield’s portfolio.

The Continental GT 650 is widely loved for:

  • Classic cafe-racer styling

  • Strong twin-cylinder performance

  • Relatively affordable pricing compared to larger capacity motorcycles

With the upcoming updates, Royal Enfield aims to make the bike even more competitive, attracting both loyal fans and new buyers looking for a stylish yet performance-oriented mid-capacity motorcycle.
