A sensational murder has shaken Patna after a retired woman teacher was found brutally killed inside her home in the AG Colony area under Shastri Nagar police station limits. The victim’s throat had been slit, triggering panic among residents of the posh locality.
The deceased has been identified as Madhavi Devi, who lived alone at house number C-71 in AG Colony. She was a retired teacher. Her husband, Amarendra Kumar Das, who served as an officer in the Accountant General’s office, passed away around six years ago. Since then, Madhavi Devi had been living by herself, though her daughter frequently visited to take care of her.
Body Found in Blood-Soaked Condition
According to police, information was received about suspicious circumstances at the house, following which the station in-charge of Shastri Nagar police station reached the spot with a team. Upon entering the house, police found Madhavi Devi’s body lying in a pool of blood.
Preliminary examination suggests that she was murdered by slitting her throat. Given the brutal nature of the crime, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called to the spot to collect evidence.
Police Investigating Motive
Senior police officials stated that all angles are being examined, including robbery and personal enmity. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scrutinized, and neighbours are being questioned to trace any suspicious movement around the time of the incident.
Fear in Posh Locality
Neighbours described Madhavi Devi as a quiet and gentle woman. The murder in AG Colony, considered one of the more secure and upscale residential areas of the city, has raised serious concerns about safety and law and order.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and assured that the case will be cracked soon.
