Ranbir Kapoor Faces a Big Setback Before ‘Dhoom 4’, Another Major Film Stuck!

Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy wrapping up work on his upcoming films. He is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, which is set to release first in 2026. Following that, his much-awaited Ramayana will hit theaters on Diwali. Recently, there was big news about Dhoom 4, but now another major Ranbir Kapoor film has hit a roadblock. Why is this project stuck? Here’s the full update.

Ayan Mukerji is slated to direct Dhoom 4 starring Ranbir Kapoor. However, his current focus is on War 2, scheduled for release this August. Earlier, Ayan planned to start pre-production for Brahmastra 2 after Hrithik Roshan’s film. So why did he choose Dhoom 4 over Brahmastra 2? A recent report from Peeping Moon sheds light on this and reveals a significant setback for Ranbir Kapoor. Has the film been officially put on hold? Let’s find out the truth.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Big Shock

The report explains that Brahmastra 2 is facing financial issues. Dharma Productions owns the rights to the trilogy, but due to current market conditions, the producers are hesitant to allocate a huge budget right now. The Brahmastra trilogy is a passion project for both Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji, but the director feels that timing and finances are crucial to do justice to the film’s vision.

Because of this, Brahmastra 2 has been temporarily postponed. However, there is a possibility that Ranbir and Ayan will resume work on it in 2027. There are also plans to shoot Brahmastra 3 simultaneously, similar to how Nitesh Tiwari is filming both parts of Ramayana together. But nothing is confirmed yet.

What’s the Latest on ‘Dhoom 4’?

Dhoom 4 is scheduled to begin shooting in April 2026, with a planned release in 2027. Ranbir Kapoor will carry forward the legacy of the franchise, following in the footsteps of John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan from the previous films. Currently, casting is underway to select two more lead actresses who will play police officers. Fans are eagerly waiting to see who will be finalized.
