After months of anticipation, Ranbir Kapoor's "Ramayana" is gearing up for its biggest promotional milestone. The much-awaited trailer of the epic mythological film is all set to release on July 24, and it has already received a 'U' (Universal) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
What has caught everyone's attention is the trailer's runtime. Unlike the usual two- to three-minute previews, the main trailer runs for 4 minutes and 15 seconds, promising an extensive first look at the film's grand scale, characters, and visual storytelling.
Interestingly, two separate trailer entries have reportedly been certified by the CBFC. One is titled "Trailer – Ramayan 3D" with a runtime of 4 minutes and 15 seconds, while another, "Theatrical Trailer – Ramayan 3D," is exactly 4 minutes long. It remains unclear whether both versions will be released or if one is exclusively meant for theatres.
This marks the third promotional asset from the makers after the announcement video and the earlier Rama glimpse, which introduced audiences to Ranbir Kapoor's look in the film. That preview, which was 2 minutes and 38 seconds long, also received a 'U' certificate.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film features Yash, Sai Pallavi, and several other prominent actors, making it one of the most anticipated Indian releases in recent years. While the earlier glimpse generated excitement, it also received mixed reactions, with some viewers expressing concerns over the visual effects and the overall presentation.
With the full trailer now ready for release, fans are eager to see whether the makers address those concerns and deliver a glimpse worthy of the film's massive expectations. The first installment of "Ramayana" is slated to arrive in theatres during Diwali, while the second chapter is expected to release in 2027.
