Ramayana: The Truth Behind the Viral Photo of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is expected to have a major year in 2026 with two highly anticipated films — Love & War and Ramayana. While the first film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and scheduled for release later this year, the mythological epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, continues to remain one of the most talked-about projects in Indian cinema.

Recently, a photo began circulating widely on social media showing Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and actress Sai Pallavi as Sita. Many users claimed the image was a leaked wedding scene from the sets of the film, which quickly increased excitement among fans.

How the Viral Photo Spread

The viral image shows Ranbir Kapoor wearing a golden crown and traditional jewelry, while Sai Pallavi appears beside him dressed in royal attire with heavy ornaments. Because of its clarity and cinematic look, the picture was widely reshared by fans, who believed it to be an authentic still from the film’s shooting.

However, several social media users began questioning the authenticity of the photo. They pointed out that leaked set photos are usually low-quality or captured from a distance, whereas this image appeared unusually polished and studio-like.

What the Investigation Revealed

When some users analyzed the image using AI verification tools, it suggested that the visuals were likely created using edited face swaps rather than being genuine photographs from the film set.

The confusion was eventually clarified by television actor Ashish Sharma. He revealed that the original image was actually a still from the television series Siya Ke Ram, which aired between 2015 and 2016.

In that show, Ashish Sharma played the role of Lord Ram, and the scene being circulated online was digitally edited by replacing the actors’ faces with those of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.

Earlier Concerns About Leaks

Interestingly, when the shooting of Ramayana initially began, some genuine images from the set had reportedly leaked online, revealing glimpses of certain characters. Reports suggested that director Nitesh Tiwari took strict measures afterward to prevent further leaks during production.

Fans Await Official Glimpse

Despite the clarification, the viral image has intensified curiosity about the upcoming film. With Ranbir Kapoor reportedly portraying Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi playing Sita, the project is expected to be one of the biggest mythological films in recent years.
