As the holy month of Ramadan is underway, many fans are curious to know whether Shah Rukh Khan observes fasts during this period. The question has resurfaced after an old video of the actor went viral on social media, in which he openly spoke about his Ramadan practices.

Ramadan began in India on February 19, and during this sacred month, Muslims across the world observe fasts from dawn to sunset. Shah Rukh Khan addressed this topic publicly during the promotions of his 2013 film Chennai Express.

Shah Rukh Khan on Fasting During Ramadan

At a promotional event held during Ramadan in 2013, Shah Rukh Khan was asked whether he was observing fasts while juggling work commitments. Responding candidly, the actor said that he had kept most of the fasts during that period.

He explained that he had missed a few fasts due to a shoulder injury, as he was required to take medication for the pain. However, he added that, by God’s grace, he had managed to observe almost all the fasts that year. His statement made it clear that he does keep fasts during Ramadan, health permitting.

Chennai Express and Its Success

Chennai Express, which released around Eid, was directed by Rohit Shetty and starred Deepika Padukone opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film went on to become a massive box-office success.

According to trade reports, the film was made on a budget of around ₹115 crore and earned approximately ₹422 crore worldwide, firmly establishing itself as a blockbuster.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently gearing up for his next film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24 and will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan, marking her debut on the big screen alongside her father.
