While their sisters wait at home with a Rakhi in hand, these drivers may be hundreds of kilometres away, keeping essential goods moving from one part of the country to another. This Raksha Bandhan, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles brought this emotion to the forefront through its ‘Raksha Ka Bandhan’ initiative, connecting truck drivers on the road with the affection and safety wishes of their families.

More Than Just a Rakhi

The initiative was not simply about celebrating Raksha Bandhan or delivering Rakhis to drivers. It was an attempt to recognise the millions of Saarthi drivers who spend important occasions away from their families while ensuring that the country's supply chains continue to run.

Tata Motors used the occasion to highlight the importance of making their journeys safer and reinforcing the connection between road safety and family well-being.

Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said that safety should not be viewed merely as a standard or regulatory requirement.

According to him, Raksha Bandhan represents relationships that remain strong even when family members are separated by distance. The millions of drivers travelling across the country every day carry not only goods but also the trust of the families waiting for them.

Tata Motors says it considers protecting that trust an important responsibility and continues to focus on improving truck safety through engineering, technology and vehicle design.

ECE R29.03 Cabins Strengthen Driver Safety

As part of its safety focus, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles is incorporating ECE R29.03-compliant cabins across its Ultra, Signa, Prima and Azura range.

The standard is aimed at strengthening cabin protection in the event of an accident, providing drivers with an additional layer of safety.

For Tata Motors, the emphasis is not simply on meeting a technical requirement. The company says its safety efforts are ultimately about protecting the people behind the wheel and the families who depend on them returning home.

Every Truck Carries a Family's Hopes
