Rajasthan Expands e-Mitra on WhatsApp: Now 103 Government Services Available From Your Phone

Getting government certificates, paying utility bills or checking the status of an application could become much easier for people in Rajasthan. The state government has expanded its e-Mitra WhatsApp service from 51 to 103 government services, allowing citizens to access several important services without visiting an office.

The WhatsApp-based service, launched on July 1, has already recorded more than 2.32 lakh transactions. The expansion fulfils the Rajasthan government's earlier target of making more than 100 government services available through e-Mitra on WhatsApp.

What Can You Do Through e-Mitra on WhatsApp?

The 103 services have been divided into four categories:

  • 32 application services

  • 36 document-download services

  • 6 payment services

  • 29 status-check services

This means residents can not only submit applications but can also download documents, make certain payments and track applications or complaints through the platform.

Apply for Important Certificates From Home

One of the most useful additions is the ability to apply for several certificates through the WhatsApp service.

Citizens can apply for documents such as bona fide certificates, caste certificates and EWS income and asset certificates. This can be particularly useful for people who previously had to visit an e-Mitra centre or government office for such applications.

Electricity Services Also Available

The service is not limited to certificates and documents. New electricity connection applications are also included among the available services.

Residents can therefore use the WhatsApp-based system for certain electricity-related requirements without having to make a physical visit to a department office.

Check Application and Complaint Status

Another useful feature is status tracking. Citizens can use the platform to check the progress of eligible applications and complaints.

This can reduce the need to repeatedly visit an office simply to find out whether an application has been processed.

More Government Departments Covered

The expanded service covers departments and services related to revenue, home affairs, Jan Aadhaar, food and civil supplies, discoms, local bodies, education, public health engineering, social justice and empowerment, and police.

With 103 services now available, the platform is becoming a single WhatsApp-based access point for a growing number of government requirements.

What Does This Mean for Rajasthan Residents?

The biggest advantage is convenience. People can use a familiar messaging platform to access government services, potentially reducing paperwork, travel and waiting time.

However, users should make sure they are using the official e-Mitra service and should avoid sharing OTPs, passwords or other sensitive information with anyone claiming to provide government services through an unofficial number or link.

The expansion of e-Mitra on WhatsApp is another step toward making government services more accessible digitally, particularly for residents who may find online government portals difficult to navigate.
