Rain alert in these districts of UP on New Year, freezing cold expected, know the weather of your city

UP Weather Today: The bone-chilling cold continues in Uttar Pradesh. Fog and cold waves are prevalent in most areas. According to the Meteorological Department, people will not get any relief from the cold for the time being.
Uttar Pradesh welcomed the New Year with a bitterly cold winter. Fog wreaked havoc in most parts of the state, while cold winds further exacerbated the chill. The Meteorological Department has warned of extremely dense fog in most districts of Purvanchal on January 1st, while rain is forecast for several areas in western Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effects of a western disturbance in the Himalayan region will be felt in the western division of the state today, leading to cloudy skies and the possibility of rain in several districts. Although the weather will remain dry in Purvanchal today, a warning has been issued for extremely dense fog in many areas of the division.
There will be rain in these districts of western UP
On New Year's Day in Uttar Pradesh, several areas of western Uttar Pradesh, such as Saharanpur, Shamli, and Muzaffarnagar, are expected to see rain, while Noida, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Mathura, Aligarh, Amroha, Hapur, Bijnor, and Moradabad may see one or two spells of rain. Fog will persist in most areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh today.
Fog and cold wave alert
In Purvanchal, dense to very dense fog is expected today in Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur and Deoria and surrounding areas. While a yellow alert for dense fog has been issued for Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Bahraich, Shravasti, Gonda, Balrampur, Basti and Sant Kabir Nagar and surrounding areas.
Kanpur remained the coldest district in the state
Thursday morning will be accompanied by dense fog in the capital Lucknow, which will cause problems commuting. However, sunshine during the day will bring some relief. Kanpur has been the coldest district in the state in the past 24 hours, with the minimum temperature reaching 4.6 degrees Celsius. Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Churk, and Hardoi are also experiencing severe cold. Minimum temperatures in these districts were recorded below 6 degrees Celsius.
