Railway Recruitment 2020: 560 Paramedical Vacancies; Application Process to Begin on September 15, Here's How to Apply

There's good news for candidates preparing for government jobs in the railway sector. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a short notification for the RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026. According to the notification, numbered 05/2026, a total of 560 vacancies will be filled for various paramedical positions.
The online application process is scheduled to begin on September 15, 2026, and eligible candidates will have until October 14, 2026 to submit their applications. A detailed recruitment notification is yet to be released, which will provide complete information about the vacancy, eligibility requirements, examination pattern, and other eligibility criteria.
Recruitment for 9 Paramedical Categories
The RRB recruitment drive will include several paramedical posts at different pay levels. The short notice mentions posts such as Nursing Superintendent, Pharmacist, Health and Malaria Inspector, Lab Assistant, Radiographer/X-ray Technician, ECG Technician, Dialysis Technician, Optometrist, and Audiologist and Speech Therapist.
Pay levels vary by position. Nursing Superintendent is at Level 7, while Pharmacist is at Level 5. Health and Malaria Inspector is at Level 6, and Lab Assistant is at Level 3. Radiographer/X-ray Technician is a Level 5 position, while ECG Technician and Optometrist are at Level 4. Dialysis Technician is at Level 6.
Applications will open from September 15
Candidates will be able to apply online for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 from September 15 to October 14, 2026. Applications can be submitted through the official RRB application portal or the respective regional RRB website.
Applicants must provide their personal details, educational qualifications, and other information related to the position. Required documents, including a photo and signature, must be uploaded in the prescribed format. The application fee can be paid through online payment methods.
According to the application fee
information provided in the short notification, OBC and EWS candidates will have to pay an application fee of ₹500. SC, ST, EBC, ex-servicemen, PwBD, women, transgender, and minority category candidates will have to pay ₹250.
Candidates who take the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be eligible for a partial refund of their fees, subject to applicable conditions. The notification indicates a refund of up to ₹400 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while candidates in other specified categories may receive a refund of up to ₹250.
Age Limit and Educational Qualifications
For these paramedical positions, the minimum age is 18 years, while the maximum age is 40 years. Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2027. Candidates in reserved categories will receive age relaxation according to applicable government regulations.
Educational qualifications will depend on the position. For example, candidates applying for the position of Nursing Superintendent must have a GNM or B.Sc. Nursing qualification. For the position of Pharmacist, a degree or diploma in Pharmacy is required. Candidates applying for the position of Radiographer/X-ray Technician must have a relevant diploma.
For the Health and Malaria Inspector position, candidates must have a B.Sc. qualification with Chemistry and a one-year Health/Sanitary Inspector Diploma. For the Lab Assistant position, a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
Three-Stage Selection Process
The recruitment process will consist of three main stages: Computer-Based Test (CBT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Candidates who successfully pass the required stages will be considered for final selection based on merit.
RRB has not yet announced the exam date. Candidates are advised to wait for the detailed notification, which will provide more information about the exam pattern, syllabus, vacancy-wise eligibility criteria, and other recruitment-related details.
