PM Fasal Bima Yojana: The weather across the country has deteriorated. Sometimes, ferocious winds are blowing, and sometimes, rain is falling before the monsoon. On top of this, the threat of El Niño and La Niña is also looming. It's still difficult to accurately predict this year's monsoon. Consequently, farmers are most worried. They fear heavy losses to their hard-earned crops.

In the past month, several districts in Rajasthan have received less than normal rainfall, while Uttar Pradesh has received much more than normal rainfall. Madhya Pradesh and Bihar are also receiving heavy rainfall. Drought is expected in most districts of Maharashtra. In this situation, farmers fear heavy losses. However, the central government's Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme could prove to be a savior for farmers. Under this scheme, farmers can insure their crops by paying a mere 2% premium. In case of loss, they will receive compensation from the insurance company. The good news is that the government pays your share of the premium under this scheme.
