Reports of violence against minority Hindus in Bangladesh continue unabated. The latest incident occurred in Mymensingh district, where Brijendra Biswas, a member of Bangladesh's rural paramilitary force, was shot dead. Ansar's associate, Noman Mian, is accused of the shooting and has been arrested. A few days ago, in the same Mymensingh district, Dipu Chandra Das was beaten to death, tied to a tree, and burned to death.
Bajendra Biswas was a member of the paramilitary force
According to Bangladeshi media reports, the incident involving 40-year-old Bajendra occurred around 6:30 pm on Monday inside the Sultana Sweaters Limited factory, located in the Mehrabari area of Bhaluka subdistrict. Twenty Ansar members were deployed for security at the factory.
The partner broke the trust and took his life.
Eyewitness reports stated that the accused, Noman Mian and Bajendra Biswas, were sitting together when Noman suddenly fired his gun at Bajendra. The bullet struck his left thigh, causing profuse bleeding. He was rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. 40-year-old Bajendra Biswas, son of Pavitra Biswas, was a resident of Kadirpur village in Sylhet Sadar subdistrict. The accused, Noman Mian, is a resident of the Tahirpur police station area in Sunamganj district.
Threatened to shoot and pulled the trigger
According to Bangladeshi media, Ansar member APC Mohammad Azhar Ali, in charge of the Labib Group, claimed that there was no dispute in the room at the time of the incident. According to him, Noman and Bajendra were sitting together in his room. Suddenly, Noman pointed his shotgun at Bajendra's thigh and shouted, "I'll shoot you." Immediately, he pulled the trigger and fled. Bajendra's associates claim that there was no prior quarrel or argument with Noman.
Minorities are scared due to one incident after another
It should be noted that Ansar is a paramilitary force primarily responsible for the security of villages and factories. This violent incident within the security force has created an atmosphere of fear among other minority members. This incident occurs at a time when fundamentalism is rampant in Bangladesh and Hindus are being selectively targeted. In light of this, the police are investigating whether this was a case of personal rivalry or a deeper conspiracy.
