Poco is all set to expand its X-series lineup in India with two new 5G smartphones. The company has officially confirmed that the Poco X8 5G and Poco X8 Power 5G will make their India debut on September 4 at 12 noon.

The company has already started teasing the smartphones, revealing details about their design, battery capacity and charging capabilities. Both models will be sold through Flipkart, where a dedicated microsite for the new phones is already live.

The biggest highlight of the launch is expected to be the battery. The Poco X8 Power 5G is tipped to feature a massive 10,000mAh battery, while the standard X8 5G could come with a 9,000mAh battery.

Poco X8 Power 5G May Get a 6.83-Inch AMOLED Screen

The Poco X8 Power 5G is expected to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone is reportedly set to use the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The regular Poco X8 5G is expected to use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and could also feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel. Its display is tipped to reach a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.

Both smartphones are also expected to offer extensive protection against dust and water, with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.

Long-Term Software Support

Poco is also expected to offer extended software support with the new X8 series.

Both smartphones are reportedly set to receive four Android OS updates and six years of security updates.

Teaser images show the Poco X8 in orange and white colour options, featuring a dual-camera setup on the back. The X8 Power 5G has been shown in yellow with a contrasting black camera module.

50MP Camera and Up to 32MP Selfie Camera

The camera setup is expected to differ between the two models.

The Poco X8 Power 5G is tipped to feature:

• 50MP primary rear camera with OIS

• 8MP ultra-wide camera

• 32MP front camera

The standard Poco X8 5G is expected to come with a 50MP rear camera and a 16MP selfie camera.

Optical image stabilisation on the Power model could be particularly useful for reducing blur in photos and videos.

10,000mAh Battery Could Be the Biggest Highlight

Battery life is likely to be the biggest talking point of the new Poco X8 series.

The Poco X8 5G is expected to pack a 9,000mAh battery, which the company claims can provide up to 3.2 days of battery life on a single charge.

It is expected to support 67W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging.

The more powerful X8 Power 5G could go even further with a massive 10,000mAh battery. Poco claims it can offer up to 3.5 days of playback time.

The Power model is also expected to support:

• 100W wired fast charging

• 27W wired reverse charging

• Bypass charging

• PPS charging

• Smart charging

Both smartphones are also claimed to have a six-year battery life rating, which could make them particularly interesting for users who prioritise long-term battery durability.

The Poco X8 5G and Poco X8 Power 5G will launch in India on September 4 at 12 noon.

Both smartphones will be available through Flipkart, and the company's promotional teasers have already started revealing some of their key specifications.

Poco Is Betting Big on Battery Life
