Petrol Diesel Price Today: Will petrol and diesel prices increase after the new UPI charge? Pump dealers' proposal to the government
Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across major Indian cities on Friday, September 18. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) revise petrol and diesel prices daily, and the new rates come into effect at 6 am.
Meanwhile, petrol pump dealers are demanding exemptions from new charges on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions, which are set to come into effect next month. Dealers have warned that their already thin 'font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;"Times New Roman","serif"'>Petrol dealers associations across the country have approached the Finance and Petroleum ministries, seeking exemption from the proposed flat ₹5 merchant discount rate (MDR) for fuel transactions above ₹2,000 under the new UPI framework.
