New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Johannesburg on Friday as part of his three-day visit to South Africa. He was given a warm and grand welcome here. Local people laid down on the runway to welcome the PM. PM Modi were overwhelmed by such a warm welcome. In response, PM Modi himself bowed down and greeted the people lying on the ground. PM Modi will participate in the 'G-20 Leaders' Summit' being organised by South Africa here.

Prime Minister Modi tweeted on the social media platform X. In it, he wrote, "I have reached Johannesburg for the G-20 Summit-related events. I look forward to productive discussions with world leaders on key global issues. Our focus will be on strengthening cooperation, advancing development priorities, and ensuring a better future for all."

The G20 Leaders' Summit will be held in Johannesburg. This will be the fourth consecutive G20 summit held in developing countries. Prime Minister Modi will present India's perspective on the G20 agenda at the summit. He is expected to address all three sessions of the summit.
PM to attend G-20 summit
Earlier, in a message, Prime Minister Modi said, "I am visiting the Republic of South Africa from November 21-23. I will be attending the 20th G20 Leaders' Summit being held in Johannesburg under the South African Presidency at the invitation of Cyril Ramaphosa (South African President)." He said that this will be a special summit as it will be the first G20 summit to be held in Africa. The African Union became a member of the G20 in 2023 during India's G20 presidency. This summit will be an opportunity to discuss important global issues.
He said, "I will present India's perspective at the Summit, in line with our vision of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' and 'One Earth, One Family, One Future.' I look forward to interacting with leaders of partner countries and participating in the sixth IBSA Summit, which will be held during the Summit. During this visit, I also look forward to my interaction with the Indian diaspora living in South Africa."
