Today, we use UPI for every payment, big or small. Thousands of rupees worth of payments are processed through UPI in just a few minutes. But sometimes, even though there's money in your account, UPI payments fail to go through. You're left wondering where the problem lies.

You're unable to make payments using any UPI app. This could be due to the threshold limit being reached. If your account is with PNB (Punjab National Bank), the threshold limit is likely the reason. If you still suspect something else, you can call your bank's customer service to find out.

If the issue is the threshold limit, let's find out how you can fix it.

How much limit is there?

The threshold limit may vary from bank to bank account. For example, if you have an account with a company, it may be different from an account with a school. If you exceed the threshold limit in a year, you will no longer be able to make UPI payments.

With a PNB account, even after reaching the threshold limit, you can withdraw Rs 5,000 each for the first three days. After three days, you won't be able to do even this.

How to fix this?

  • If the bank is government owned, then this work can be completed only by going to the bank.
  • You will have to go to the bank and get the form for increasing the threshold limit.
  • You will also have to submit PAN and Aadhaar along with the form.
  • Along with this, definitely take your passbook with you to fill in the bank details.

When will you be able to make the payment?

To increase the threshold limit, you need to wait a day or two after submitting the form. If there's a Saturday or Sunday in between, wait until Tuesday.
