There is going to be a big change in the process of updating Aadhaar Card (E-Aadhaar OTP). Now the update will be possible through OTP from home and the verification process will be completed with birth certificate, driving license, passport. The date for this new facility has also come.

As important as Aadhaar Card is, its update is equally important. If Aadhaar is not updated, meaning it does not have your latest address or mobile number, then many tasks can get stuck. By the way, updating your personal details in Aadhaar is not a difficult task (E-Aadhaar OTP). That means all this can be done easily and by paying a nominal fee. UIDAI, which manages the card, also runs campaigns about it from time to time. Everything is fine, but there is a point where the problem gets stuck. For most of the updates in Aadhaar, one has to go to the center.

But this is a big problem and it is really going to be resolved. There is going to be a big change in the process of updating Aadhaar Card. Now the update will be possible through OTP from home and the verification process will be completed with birth certificate, driving license, and passport.

When will this facility be available?

Till now, only the home address could be changed in the Aadhaar card from home. Apart from this, for any change, be it in name, address, date of birth or mobile number, one has to go to the centre in person for every update. According to a CNBC report, this need will end from November 2025.

Actually, the government is developing a central system after which your data will be verified from your other documents like driving license, passport, MNREGA. That means if the details are updated on any other document, then the verification process will be completed from there itself. It is not difficult to do this because today almost all documents have Aadhaar number.

This process will become completely digital as soon as it comes to the center server. Users will only need an OTP (one-time password), through which they will be able to update their Aadhaar card details sitting at home. UIDAI is going to launch a new mobile app E-Aadhaar soon. Through this app, users will be able to update the information present in their Aadhaar card like name, address, date of birth and mobile number sitting at home. With this, people will not have to visit Aadhaar centers for Aadhaar update.

However, this facility will not be applicable for changes in biometric or iris scan, for this you will have to go to the Aadhaar centre, because this is a change done by a machine.
