Nissan Kait SUV First Look: New Creta and Sierra rival revealed

Nissan India is gearing up to launch a new C-segment SUV based on the third-generation Renault Duster platform, with an expected debut in early 2026. While this upcoming model will share its architecture, features, and powertrain with the new Duster, it will carry an entirely fresh design identity. The styling is likely to draw inspiration from the Nissan Magnite as well as the newly showcased Nissan Kait.

How powerful is the Nissan Kait?
The Kait has dimensions of 4.30 metres in length, 1.76 metres in width, and a 2.62-metre wheelbase. It offers a sizable 432-litre boot and, according to Nissan, excellent cabin space. The design has been updated over the Kicks Play (launched in 2016), although the basic platform remains the same.

Design highlights
• LED headlamps
• Dynamic LED DRLs
• Slatted front grille
• Large air intake
• Circular wheel arches
• Stylish alloy wheels
• Kicks Play–inspired roof rails and ORVMs

Variants and features
The Nissan Kait will use the same engine as the Kicks Play—a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated flex-fuel unit.
• With ethanol: 113 bhp, 149 Nm
• With petrol: 110 bhp, 146 Nm

This engine is paired with a CVT gearbox. Nissan claims the Kait delivers a city mileage of 11 km/l.
