New Maruti Brezza Set for a Big Upgrade: Turbo Petrol Engine, Premium Features and More

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the updated Brezza, bringing a host of changes to its popular compact SUV. The refreshed model is expected to receive styling updates, new technology, additional comfort features, and a more powerful engine option, making it an even stronger contender in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.

Two Petrol Engine Choices Expected

The updated Brezza is likely to continue with the familiar 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 103 PS of power and 139 Nm of torque. Buyers can expect both 5-speed manual and automatic transmission options with this engine.

A major highlight could be the introduction of a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. According to reports, this engine may generate 110 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, and could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, offering a more spirited driving experience.

CNG Variant to Become More Practical

Maruti is also expected to offer a CNG version of the new Brezza. This time, the SUV may feature an underbody-mounted CNG tank, freeing up additional boot space compared to the current model. The change is likely to make the CNG variant more practical for everyday use.

Expected Fuel Efficiency

The updated Brezza is expected to deliver competitive mileage across its powertrain options:

  • 1.5-litre petrol (Manual): Around 21.1 kmpl
  • 1.5-litre petrol (Automatic): Up to 20.18 kmpl
  • 1.0-litre turbo petrol: Around 20.82 kmpl
  • CNG variant: Approximately 26.55 km/kg

Fresh Exterior Styling

While the overall silhouette is expected to remain familiar, the SUV could receive several cosmetic upgrades, including:

  • Redesigned front grille
  • Updated LED headlamps and DRLs
  • New front bumper
  • Fresh alloy wheel designs
  • Connected LED taillamps
  • Revised rear bumper
  • New single-tone and dual-tone exterior colour options

These changes are expected to give the Brezza a more modern and premium appearance.

Feature-Rich Cabin

Inside, the layout is likely to remain largely unchanged, but the equipment list could receive a significant boost. Expected features include:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Built-in connected apps
  • Alexa voice assistant support
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Air purifier with PM 2.5 air quality monitoring
  • 64-colour ambient lighting
  • Paddle shifters on automatic variants

With these upgrades, the new Maruti Brezza is expected to offer a more premium cabin experience while enhancing convenience and comfort.

Ready to Take on the Competition

With refreshed styling, an expanded engine lineup, improved practicality, and a long list of new features, the updated Brezza is expected to strengthen its position in the compact SUV market. It will continue to compete against rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet, offering buyers a well-rounded package of performance, efficiency, and technology.
