The Mahindra Thar 3-Door could soon receive a major update. The popular off-road SUV is expected to get a facelift, with changes potentially extending from its exterior design to the cabin and equipment list.

While the Thar has always been known for its rugged appearance and off-road capability, the upcoming update could give it a more modern look while retaining its familiar character.

Front Design Could Get a Major Update

The front-end design is expected to be one of the biggest areas of change on the facelifted Thar.

The updated SUV could take design inspiration from the larger Thar Roxx, potentially receiving a revised grille and refreshed front styling. New alloy wheels could also give the SUV a more substantial appearance from the side.

Changes could extend to the rear as well, with the taillamp design potentially receiving updates.

Interior May Get More Modern

The cabin could also receive a refresh as part of the facelift. Mahindra may introduce changes to the dashboard and centre console while adding some features already seen in the Thar Roxx.

Engine and 4x4 System May Remain Unchanged

Despite the expected styling and feature updates, major mechanical changes are not currently expected.

The existing petrol and diesel engine options could continue, along with the SUV's 4x4 system. This would allow Mahindra to retain the Thar's established off-road capability while improving its design and everyday usability.

Lighter Steering Could Improve City Driving

Another potential update could involve the steering system. The facelifted Thar may receive a lighter steering setup inspired by the Thar Roxx.
