New Labor Code: New labor law comes into effect; everything from salary to PF will be affected; read in detail

The government has implemented a new labor law. The notification for the new labor law has been issued. This new labor law will bring about several important changes. According to experts, the new rules may alter salary structures, workplace procedures, and compliance systems. A few days ago, the central government announced new labor laws. Four of these labor codes have already been implemented. This law has replaced 29 previous labor laws. These include wages, industrial relations, social security, and work-related safety.

What will change in Veg?

Puneet Gupta, Partner, Tax Department, People Advisory Services, EY India, provided this information. He said that these laws will primarily apply to sectors where the central government has influence: banks, public sector undertakings, aviation, and major ports.

These rules have brought greater clarity regarding minimum wages, working hours, and salaries. The new labor law caps the working hours at 48 per week. Procedures for fines, advance payments, and damage deductions have also been established. Contract employees will be required to receive bonuses. Rules have also been established for employee records, salary records, and attendance records, as reported by Money Control.
