People in many states across the country, including Assam and Nagaland, are facing the ravages of heavy rains these days. So far, 95 people have died in Assam due to floods caused by the rains.

Meanwhile, the national capital, Delhi, has been lashed by torrential rain. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and strong winds in 17 states, including Rajasthan, today. The Meteorological Department has specifically urged people in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar, to exercise caution. From today until August 8th, heavy rain may also occur at some locations in western Madhya Pradesh.  

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for Rajasthan, as well as Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala. The Meteorological Department has also forecast light to moderate rain for Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.

The rain continues in Delhi-NCR.
According to the Meteorological Department, the rain continues in Delhi-NCR. On Wednesday, Delhi witnessed heavy rain for about 2 hours. The rain has been continuing in the entire NCR including Delhi-Noida since morning. People will not get any relief from the rain here yet. The department has issued a rain warning in Delhi till August 8.
