The years-old rivalry between Islamic fundamentalists and Hindus in Mumbai's Dahisar West area took a violent turn.

The years-old rivalry between Islamic fundamentalists and Hindus in Mumbai's Dahisar West area took a violent turn. During this, three people died, while four others were seriously injured. This incident happened on Sunday (May 18, 2025). 

This incident took place in Ganpat Patil Nagar located in Dahisar West area. On Sunday evening around 4:30 pm, Hamid Sheikh reached Ram Naval Gupta's coconut shop in an inebriated state and an argument broke out between the two over an old rivalry. During the argument, both sides called their respective sons, which further escalated the dispute. Soon, an attack started between the two families with knives and other sharp weapons.

In this violent clash, Ram Naval Gupta, his sons Arvind Gupta and Hamid Sheikh died. Meanwhile, two sons of Ram Naval Gupta-Amar and Amit Gupta, and sons of Hamid Sheikh-Arman and Hasan Sheikh have been seriously injured. All the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital, where their treatment is going on.

Let us tell you that there was enmity between the two families since 2022 and they had also lodged complaints against each other with the police. Despite this, the local administration and police did not take any concrete steps in time, due to which this dispute could take a violent turn.

The police have sent the bodies of the deceased for postmortem and have begun investigating the case. However, no arrests have been made yet as the accused are injured and are undergoing treatment.

At present, the condition of the injured is said to be critical and the process of taking them into custody will be started after their treatment is completed. This incident has created a sensation in the area and the police have deployed additional security forces in the area.
